“While We’re At It” is the section of short items appearing at the back of First Things invented by Father Richard John Neuhaus, which I wrote during my time as executive editor of the magazine. The first few, following the practice of the preceding editor, when the section was written by several people, appeared without a byline and used the editorial “we” a lot. I’ve posted the first few and the last few and will post the others as I have time.
